Yesterday I turned on my Xbox 360 to play a little Ghost Recon when I saw the flashing red lights on the power button. A little internet research identified the problem as the RING OF DEATH. The $500 Platinum system was only a few months old i figured I would get another one for free. I called Xbox and after a short troubleshooting session that involved unplugging the cords from the back of the machine and removing the harddrive and trying to turn it back on the guy on the phone said I could send in my xbox and get a refurbished unit for $130. My 90!!!!! day warranty had expired. I was FURIOUS!!!! After checking around on the internet I found forum after forum of people with the same problem. There are so many people with the ring of death that the XBOX 360 has to be defective. I wanted to bring attention to this CRAPPY product by giving a face to the many many people who are pissed after spending so much on their systems only to have them break very quickly.
I decided to start this blog and ask people to send in pictures of themselves and their own Rings of DEATH. Send In your photo now and a short paragraph answering these three questions.... How long did you have your Xbox 360 before it bit the dust? What happened when you called tech support or the retail store where you bought the system? Did it cost anything to get it replaced?
Send a photo and statement to xbox360ringofdeath@yahoo.com
thanks
Mr. Ring of Death
